Vehicle dynamics, taught as one connected whole.
Vehicle dynamics online courses for engineers who want to understand why a car behaves the way it does, not just how to change it.
Who is this for
Race Engineers
You can change the car, but it's not always what you expected. You want to decide a setup with more clarity, not find it by trial and error.
FSAE Students
You've got the information, but turning that into design decisions seems daunting. Where do you even start when everything is important?
OEM engineers
You work in automotive but never had a vehicle dynamics course where everything connected.
What do we solve
Theory and practice don't always connect. You know the components, you've read the models, but deciding what to change still comes down to trying and seeing. What's missing isn't another equation, it's knowing which phenomena are in play and when they show up. That's what these courses give you
The Courses
Three courses, built as a progression. Understand the limits of a car, then how to control its performance, and finish with the details to get the most out of it.
Course 1: Fundamentals
Rigid car, linear tyres, longitudinal and lateral performance, with the simplest models. All put together on the GG diagram.
Next cohort starts July 9
Course 2: Engineering the Yaw Moment
Use springs, dampers, anti-roll bars and differentials to shape the yaw moment, and see the result on the Yaw Moment Diagram.
Next cohort starts July 8
Course 3: The winning car
The details matter. Compliant suspension, non-linear damping, LSD ramps, aero maps, thermal tyre models.
Next cohort starts September 9
About Me
I'm Felipe Vasquez. PhD in motorcycle dynamics from the University of Southampton, published researcher, former university professor, and active racing driver. I've collaborated with KTM and Kawasaki, taught vehicle dynamics at university, and competed in touring cars and motocross. These courses are my attempt to put the physics together the way I wish someone had shown me, thirteen years ago.
